On Wednesday, June 11, you can help support your neighbors’ realizing the American dream as well as enjoy some great music and wine. The Boise Habitat for Humanity is holding its 2nd annual fundraiser to help support its mission to work with families to create a new home for them.
Habitat for Humanity does not build houses for families in need; rather, it works side-by-side with families who show that they need housing and are willing to work with Habitat for Humanity. The families provide hundreds of hours of “sweat equity,” and the resulting home is then sold to them on a no-interest, no-profit loan. The monthly payments made by the families go into a pool that is used to further invest in helping out other families.
Boise Habitat for Humanity has helped 46 families in our area realize their dream of home ownership. At this fundraiser, you can sample fine wines from the Northwest, great food, and listen to live jazz in a beautiful setting. You will also help Habitat for Humanity to increase the number of families who are able to get keys to a new home in which they can take pride.
The fundraiser will be held from 6-9 p.m. at FarWest Landscape & Garden Center, located at 5728 W. State St. Tickets are $20 in advance, and $25 at the door. To purchase tickets or for more information, call 331-2916 or visit www.hfhboise.org.
