It has been said that diamonds are a girl’s best friend. If that is true, it is only a slim margin ahead of chocolate. The Discovery Center of Idaho is celebrating both of those wonders of nature at their annual Chocoate & Diamonds Gala on Friday, February 6.
Every year, the Discovery Center is transformed for one evening into a world of white lights, dark chocolate, and sparkling diamonds. Science and powerful pleasures combine to create a delightful concoction of an evening.
A highlight of the event is the “Boise’s Best Chocolatier Contest”, when Boise’s top chocolatiers present their most impressive creations to be judged by a panel of industry peers. The pieces are then auctioned off during the live auction.
Attendees get to participate in their own chocolate sampling extravaganza and cast a vote for the “People’s Choice” award.
To make the evening even more dazzling, an 18-carat white and yellow gold diamond necklace donated by Ben Bridge Jewelers will be raffled off.
All proceeds benefit the Discovery Center of Idaho (DCI), an interactive science center providing exhibits and educational programs that offer authentic, sensory experiences to make the sciences, math and technology tangible. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, DCI provides experiences and educational opportunities that inspire lifelong learning and interest in science, math and technology.
The Chocolate and Diamonds Gala is set amidst the current exhibit “Phenomenal Forces.” The exhibit is designed to develop a better understanding of the phenomena of magnetism, motion, electricity, energy, light, force and matter.
By the end of this lavish evening, attendees certainly will be able to attest to the powerful force of an authentic sensory experience of phenomenal chocolate and diamonds!
